Idris Alkali, a retired major general, has been declared missing by his family a few weeks after retirement from service.

The wife of the missing general, Salamatu Alkali, while confirming the story to Daily Nigerian, said that she lost contact with her husband about one week ago when he embarked on a journey from Abuja to his farm in Bauchi State.

“Before embarking on the journey, I advised him to take the Kano route and ignore Jos because of the dangers inherent in that axis.

“The last time we spoke on that fateful day was when he called to tell me that he had just passed Jos. I protested why he did not take the Kano route, but he assured me everything would be okay,” the distraught wife said in emotion-laden tone.
