The African Action Congress and the Take It Again Movement, co-conveners of the #RevolutionNow protest, have warned the Presidency to not have fun but after it violently dispersed peaceable protesters throughout the nation on August 5, 2019.
Presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, thanked Nigerians for not turning out to the protest after heavy police and navy presence at designated venues nationwide.
Responding to the claims that Nigerians shunned the mass motion, Bayo Aderigbe, talking on behalf of the AAC/TIB European Entrance on Tuesday mentioned, “Opposite to the asinine commentary made by Presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, that RevolutionNow has failed, we from AAC/TIB European Entrance, made daring to claim that Nigerians are simply ‘testing microphone’ and the true work of RevolutionNow has not began in any respect.”
Aderigbe questioned if the Buhari regime felt that arresting activists will distract Nigerians from the problems raised by #RevolutionNow protesters corresponding to mass unemployment, revenue inequality, starvation and low literacy ranges.
He mentioned, “The protest beneath the slogan #RevolutionNow is simply beginning and it could take a number of types of civil disobedience.
“We wish to salute the resoluteness of Nigerians each at house and overseas who participated within the protest on Monday.
“It’s our candid view that the regime of the ruling class rests on rooster legs and would collapse if it fails to meet the elemental calls for raised by Nigerians. The individuals have risen.
“The subsequent section of the wrestle particularly from Nigerians within the Diaspora is to storm European Parliament, Downing Avenue, United Nations Normal Meeting in New York and the White Home in Washington to attract the eye of the worldwide neighborhood to this monstrous regime.”
