Speaking of a young Nigerian talent who was inspired by Fela Kuti , Nas, Jay Z , Tupac and Snoop to eventually find his own space in the music industry, Doc Sam tells it all.
Unlike other fortunate kids he grew up in abject poverty though he kept the faith and hope that one day he was going to become a force to reckon with.Doc Sam had a different mindset and determination to achieve greater goals. Thanks be to God.
He recalls that music has been instrumental in his musical journey having saved him in different ways.
Doc Sam started a dancing group known as Bling Bling , with his best friend at the tender age of 13/14 in IMO state Nigeria before groundbreaking his songwriting career at the age of 15.For him and his crew they did rap about the harsh conditions they lived in with dreams to make it some day.
The multi-talented chap made music throughout his college days and performed on both small and big stages. He adds that he would effectively sing or rap himself to sleep just to forget about the suffering he went through.
He would then develop a liking for Afrobeats, Afro hiphop and Trap music just to make people dance , celebrate each other and enjoy life. His main aim was to inspire the African youth since music became so therapeutic both for himself and his fellows.
Doc Sam is most definitely one of the fastest rising artistes in Africa and beyond being that his graph is on a climbing lane every other day the sun goes up.
