It’s Murder He Wrote, As Juogi Nation’s Tat Yen Begins His 2021 Campaign With Murder.




Tat Yen officially drops “MURDER” as a first single for the year following an impressive 2020 run that saw him crowned the Mseto East Africa Rising Star.

After winning the highly competitive artist of the month battle early last year, Juogi Nation’s Tat Yen set out on a musical exploration that saw him expand the brand internationally, with collaborations from West and Southern Africa. Tat Yen A.K.A  Mr. Chobo Don took his culture revival initiative continental, working with Mozambican Diamond Chichone on Quarentena, Zambian Fresh Hommie and Nigerian Marcus on Soul mate and Beautiful Girl,

In addition to the collaborative projects, Tat Yen also released two solo refixes to Yes Bana (Skinny Nigga Anthem), and Obong’o Nyakalaga, attracting rave coverage from France-based publication, Pan African Music magazine, which explored the artists’ role in cultural preservation of Luo traditions alongside greats like Khaligraph, Japesa and Vioxii Dede.

 

MURDER follows up on the artists’ original solo releases after Chobo, further expounding on his sonic adventures, and themes of musical bravado, with persistent dedication to lyricism. Mixed and mastered by Batoz Music Ent, MURDER is a dancehall record characterized by Tat Yen’s signature versatile delivery on the Webb Dzine production.
