Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Infinity Ebere Ohakwe is making headlines after revealing she’s been held by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Benin City for over 21 days — with no charge, no lawyer, and no access to her own money.

In a handwritten note exclusively obtained by OtownGist, the Olaedo producer poured out her heart, accusing the EFCC of injustice and emotional abuse.
“Nigerians please help me.
By Monday it will be 21 days inside EFCC cell.
I no thief. I no commit crime.
I no do fraud.
No boyfriend matter ooo.”
Infinity, who flew from Abuja to Asaba for a burial, says she was arrested the moment she entered Access Bank opposite Meedons — without warning or any official invitation from EFCC.
She questioned the motives behind her arrest, especially as the petition against her was already dated May 19, days before her trip.
“So why didn’t they arrest me at her burial in Onitsha, Anambra?
They knew if they arrested me in front of Nollywood people, the matter would scatter. This is wickedness and injustice to my person.”
She also revealed that personal issues with a man she once dated may have sparked the entire ordeal. Infinity claims she was forced to remove any mention of love or relationship from her statement, making it harder for her to defend herself properly.
“There’s another side of the story involving a guy I was dating. I can’t talk now, but I will when I’m free.”
Currently, the actress says she’s being kept in a “dirty and unhealthy cell” and can’t hire a lawyer because her accounts are frozen.
Infinity Ohakwe, known for films like Skolastica, The Misdeed, and When Love Hurts, is also the CEO of Jewel Infinity Productions, and a rising voice for youth development in Nollywood.
EFCC has not yet made any official statement on her case.
“Please help me speak for me,” she pleaded.
“I will tell the world everything when I’m out.”
