There’s a new diva on the block none other than Lady Viva, with her soft voice and melodious mix of afro pop and folk, she makes music that will soothe your soul.
In a country dominated by yorubas and ibos, Lady Viva boldly inserts her language ibibio in her music eager to get the voices of the minority group of small town Calabar heard through her music.
Born to a musician family, her mom is a gospel singer with 3 successful albums that were a hit in Calabar. While she was clearly influenced by her mother’s folky tastes, including artists like Angelina Kidjo and Asa, she found her own voice by singing in the choir at 12, then discovered her passion for song writing when she was 18.
Her single Tim Kama meaning “Take Good Care Of Me ” is a personal project that addresses how a woman should be loved and pampered not emotionally abused and battered as it’s the case nowadays.
Lady Viva is also a filmmaker/actress and has featured in some nollywood movies
Her versatile career is shaping up to be nothing short of iconic.
